该仪器利用灯光仪对汽车前大灯的光强、光偏、光形、灯高、雾灯进行测量，并能正确提示进行灯光的手动调整。灯光测试仪通过集成控制电子系统获取数据 可用于检测目前和将来的新型汽车前照灯操作界面友好配有水平装置，独立的检测系统，也可与电脑相连通讯
